The W-409 War Machine, commonly called "Rex", due to its passing resemblence to a Tyrannosaurus Rex, is one of the war machines developed by Science Division Delta.
The prototype of the W-409 defends the Delta-5 Underground Complex on Regulon IV.
Solid Snake has seen a W-409, and has commented on its aesthetic resemblence to a war machine from his universe, a Metal Gear that is also called "Rex".
