S.H.I.E.L.D. is an espionage and law-enforcement agency from one of many alternate versions of Earth, this one called Earth-XN4195. It often deals with paranormal and superhuman threats.
First Contact with S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't actually performed by Hellcat Squadran (at least not directly: Vinh was involved, and is, while a "protected civilian" under Hellcat Squadran, not an actual member of the organization), or any Coalition faction, but rather by the Coalition's GTVA Allies.
S.H.I.E.L.D. regularly works with multiple super-human groups from their world, including the Avengers and the X-Men.
